The proximal femoral nail(PFNA) treatment method of the intertrochanteric

Objective To investigate the efficacy of proximal femoral nail(PFNA) treatment method of the in tertrochanteric fractures.Methods From May 2007 to December 2010,PFNA treatment of unstable intertrochanteric fracture in 79 cases,the establishment of the observation group,outside the same period action force hip screw fixation(DHS) surgery in 79 patients as a control group,compared the efficacy and follow-up,was a different time hip function Harris score changes.Results All patients were followed up for 1.5 years,all fractures healed,and two sets of fracture healing time,compared the amount of bleeding,the difference was significant(P 0.05).According to the Harris hip score,the efficacy of the observation group was significantly better than the control group,the difference was statisti cally significant(P 0.05).The observation group and control group after 6 months and 12 months after surgery,1.5 years after hip function Harris scores compared with 3 months after surgery were significantly improved,and the obser vation group than in the control group increased by more obvious difference statistically significant(P 0.05).Conclusion PFNA treatment of intertrochanteric fractures,especially for the comminuted or the bone worse,has the advantages of less trauma,simple operation,less bleeding,reliable fixation,less bone loss.
