Clinical observation of proximal femoral nail anti-rotation in treatment of intertrochanteric fractures

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of proximal femoral nail anti-rotation(PFNA) in the treatment of intertrochanteric fractures.Methods A total of 42 cases of patients who accepted operation in our hospital from August 2009 to August 2012 were performed the orthopedic admitted intertrochanteric fracture.All cases were randomly divided into dynamic hip screw(DHS) group and PFNA group,each groups had 21 cases.The excellent rates,operative time,blood loss and fracture healing time of the two groups was observed.Results The operative time,blood loss and fracture healing time of PFNA group were significantly superior to the DHS group,the difference was statistically significant (P0.05);the excellent rate of PFNA group was 95.2%,the DHS group was 76.2%,the PFNA group was significantly higher than that of the DHS group,the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Comparing with the DHS,the PFNA is significantly effective in intertrochanteric fracture,because of shorter operative time,less bleeding and quick recovery after surgery,it is worth for clinical application and promotion.
