Abstract
Objective To investigate the best way of bowel preparation before colonoscopy in the pediatric patients. Methods 160 cases of pediatric patients preparing for colonoscopy were randomly divided into four groups:oral polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder in the morning group(group A),oral mannitol group(group B),oral magnesium sulfate group(group C),oral polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder at night group(group D).The intestinal cleanliness and adverse reactions of each group were observed. Results The intestinal cleanliness of group A was better than that of group B and group C(P0.05),there was no any significant difference between group A and group D in the intestinal cleanliness(P0.05).The adverse reactions of group A was less than group B,group C and group D(P0.05).Conclusion The way that oral polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder in the morning is effective and safe.It is best way of bowel preparation for colonoscopy in the pediatric patients.
