Abstract

【Objective】To study a safe and effective method of bowel preparation before colonoscopy,to improve the success rate of colonoscopy to reduce complications, and to save costs and time for patients.【Methods】216 patients preparing for colonoscopy were randomly divided into three groups:group A(n=70):polyethylene glycol-electrolyte lavage solution, group B(n=74):mannitol,group C(n=72):senna.Cleanliness of bowel, drug adverse reactions after taking medicine, and the patients' psychology state were observed.【Results】Bowel cleaning rate in group B was as good as group A,P0.05.The rate of mental stress in group A was lower than that in group B and group C,P0.05.【Conclusion】Oral administration of Sulfate-free Polyethylene Glycol Electrolyte Powder is safe and effective for bowel preparation.Besides, electrocoagulation or electrocision can be performed when polyps are found.
