Abstract

Objective:To investigate the role of P-selectin in the metastasis of lung cancer.Methods:Forty-eight primary lung cancer specimens were examined by immunohistochemical staining method(SP) using a rat monoclonal antibody against human P-selectin,and 18 samples of adjacent non-cancerous tissue were extracted as control. Results:The positive rate of P-selectin expression in adenocarcinona was significantly higher than those of squamous cell carcinoma and adjacent non-cancerous tissue(both P0.01).In adenocarcinoma, the expression of P-selectin in stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ was higher than that of stage Ⅰand Ⅱ with statistical significance(P0.01).But there were no significant correlation between the expression of P-selectin and grade of differentiation, lymph node metastasis or tumor size.Conclusion:P-selectin might be associated with vascular metastasis in adenocarcinoma.
