Study on the Expression of P-selectin in Lung Cancer and Their Correlation with Metastasis of Lung Cancer

Objective To discuss the P-selectin expression in lung cancer and the relation between P-selectin with metastasis of lung cancer.Methods Using immunohistochemical technique, we examined the expression of P-selectin in 20 paracancerous tissues and 76 lung cancer tissues.Results The results were as following:(1)The expression of P-selectin had no correlation with histological subtypes.(2)P-selectin was not expressed in paracancerous tissues.(3)The expression of P-selectin no correlation with histological grade.(4)In staging Ⅰ,staging Ⅱ,staging Ⅲ and staging Ⅳ cancer tissues,positive rates of P-selectin were 23.81%(5/21),35.29%(6/17),71.43%(15/21)and 82.35%(14/17),respectively.Among these groups,the expression rate in staging Ⅰor staging Ⅱ was significantly higher than that in staging Ⅲ of staging Ⅳ(P0.05).(5)The expression rates of P-selectin were 62.00%(31/50) and 34.62%(9/26) respectively in tumors with and without lymph node metastasis,showing significant difference between them.(6) P-selectin was mainly between the endothelial cells of arterioles,venules,small arteries and small veins,and capillaries were unlabelled.Conclusion The high expression of P-selectin indicated the risk of invasion and metastasis of lung cancer.
