Abstract
Chemical constituents of ethyl alcohol extract of Senecio oldhamianus flowers were isolated and purified by silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and identified by physichemical and spectral methods.The following six compounds were identified:β-sitosterol(1),palmitic acid(2),euparin(3),euparone(4),hyperin(5),caffeic aicd(6).These compounds were reported for the first time in this plant.Of special note,compound 3 with apple flavor was the main aromatic component of S.oldhamianus flowers.
