Abstract

Liu Zongyuan wrote more than 30 papers on Buddhism and therefore is regarded by some scholars as a faithful Buddhist.His affection of Buddhism results from the influences from his family,social impact as well as his unique opinion about Buddhism.His affection of Buddhism is for seeking for the truth and for integration of Confucianism and Buddhism.Meanwhile,it reflects the conflict between his thoughts of going into the society and his thoughts of being far from the material world.
