Abstract
Taking effluent from anaerobic hydrogen-producing reactor as substrate, the cultivation process of aerobic granular sludge in a sequencing batch reactor(SBR) was studied. The results show that large-sized aerobic granular sludge with excellent settleability and removal abilities can be successfully formed within 60 days.In the granulation of activated sludge,as the value of sludge volume index is decreased, the granular diameter, settling velocity and sludge concentration are increased, thus improving the removal efficiency of the SBR.
