Abstract
Taking the fibrous activated sludge as seeding sludge, aerobic granular sludge was successfully cultivated in sequencing batch reactor(SBR) fed with synthetic wastewater. After the SBR running for 7 days, part of the sludge was granulated and after it running for 20 days, most of the granular sludge formed in a stable state. It was demonstrated by the investigation that the stabled aerobic granular sludge had an average diameter of 5—6 mm and a sedimentation rate of 29—72 m/h.The average removal rate of the COD was 92.5%,that of the NH3—N amounted to 75.5%,and that of the TP was 95%,showing that the aerobic granular sludge had a good decontamination capability.
