Abstract

Objective To probe correlation between expression of p53, p16, cyclin D1 and PCNA.Methods Expression of p53, p16, cyclin D1 and PCNA were detected by using immunohistochemistry method (ABC technique) in gastric cancer and positive PCNA cells were semiquantified.Results Positive immunostaining rate of p53, p16 and cyclin D1 in gastric cancer was 51.7%, 48.3% and 53.4% respectively. Quantitative analysis showed that the number of PCNA positive immunostaining cells was much higher in the cancer tissues with positive immunostaining for p53 and cyclin D1 than that in the cancer tissue with negative immunostaining for p53 and cyclin D1 ( P 0.05).Conclusion Overexpression of p53 and cyclin D1 may play an important role in promoting proliferation of gastric cancer cells.\;
