Analysis of Cited Literatures in "Modern Practical Medicine" published from 2004 to 2007

Abstract

Objective TO find out the situation of absorbing and using informations in Modern Practical Medicine,show the discipline of citations and the distribution of literature demand.Methods Using the bibliometric method to calculate the citation rate,number of citations per paper,distribution of citations in every column,types of citations,language-based citation number,years of citations,Price index and self-cited rate.Results During 2004-2007,the amount of papers were 1939,and the amount of citations were 10370; the average citation rate was 88.55%,and the number of citations per paper was 5.35. The rate of citations in Chinese was 53.15%,in English was 46.70%.Meanwhile,the citation rate of papers published in journals was 85.92%,in books was 13.72%,and in other materials was 0.89%.The Price index and self-cited rate were 52.27% and 0.44%,respectively. Conclusion The citation of this Journal covers a relatively wide range sources and shows an adequate ability to introduce recent progress on research information domestic and abroad in the field of medicine. However,the novelty of citations in foreign languages should be increased.
