Abstract

[Objective] To seek for an optimum technology for decolorizing xylose hydrolyzate.[Method] The cornstalk xylose hydrolyzate was decolorized with activated carbon, and the best decolorization parameters were determined by orthogonal experiment.[Result] It was the best to decolorize the cornstalk xylose hydrolyzate by 5% activated carbon at 60 ℃ for 30 min, under which the decolorization rate could reach up to 95.27% and the retention rate of xylose could be 80.12%.[Conclusion] Both the decolorization rate and xylose retention rate maintain at a high level under the optimized parameters, the decloarization technology is stable and practical.
