Abstract

Objective Making strategy suggestions for developing the rural health of Guangdong province based on the baseline survey on the main manpower-the leaders and the doctors in the township hospitals.Methods Questionnaire and qualitative survey were taken to the sampled counties.Data were analyzed by SPSS.Results The main manpower in township hospitals in the rural areas of Guangdong are not satisfactory because of their lower education and less chance to be trained.The differences are so noted especially in working places, education chances,income,research condition and so on.Presidents and doctors are eager to get more chance to study and promote.Conclusion Governments and related department should attach importance to budget input,human source development,working conditions improvement,income and promotion chances and make some supporting decision for the presidents and doctors working in the township hospitals who are the very important manpower in the rural health care.
