Abstract

To elucidate the effects of interleukin-6(IL-6) and C-reactive protein(CRP) in coronary heart disease(CHD),seventy patients suffered from CHD in a test group and 34 health persons as a control group were involved in this study.Serum levels of IL-6 and CRP were measured by ELISA and nephelometery. The concentrations of IL-6 and CRP in CHD test group were significantly higher than those in control group, which showed some clinical importance. The increment of serum levels of IL-6 and CRP are indicators for the development of CHD.
