Abstract
The experiments of table waxy corn yield under different planting densities were carried out in order to get high yield and good corn ear appearance under rational close planting. The results showed that there was a very significant difference in seed yields between different planting densities. The rate of two ears a plant was high and misshapen second ears commonly occurred under low planting density. Under high planting density the yield was high but the ear was short, the bare tip was big and the ear appearance was poor. Under rational planting density the dynamic change of leaf area index was rational, and a high yield and a good ear appearance could be obtained.
