Clinical observation on insulin glargine combined with acarbose treating patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the curative effect and hypoglycemia danger of insulin glargine combined with acarbose and biosynthetic human insulin treating patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus.METHODS Sixty cases of type 2 diabetic patients taking insulin glargine(A group) and biosynthetic human insulin(B group) at random.The 2 groups were compared in the time to reach the target BG,insulin quantity and the incident rate of the hypoglycemia after treatment.RESULTS The 2 groups at the time to reach the target BG were not appeared to be significant difference,the incidence rate of hypoglycemia and the requirement of insulin in glargine group were obviously lower than B group(P0.01).CONCLUSION It is more effective and safer for diabetic patients to use insulin glargine combined with acarbose to decrease BG.
