Abstract

In the Song Dynasty,people in Huizhou believed in many kinds of gods and spirits,including traditional gods of Buddhism and Taoism,heroes worshipped by the folks,and the natural gods.The appearance of these religions and beliefs reflected Huizhou people's attitude to life and value orientation,from which we can find common persons' wish for gods and spirits' protection and pursuit for a better life;the existing of so many kinds of gods and spirits also reflected the utilitarian features of folk religion and belief in the Song Dynasty.
