Abstract

Grammatical metaphor promoted by Halliday is an important part in systemic-functional linguistics.It finds existence in scientific discourse in large amount.The grammar of stratified language has the potential for construing experience.The emergence,establishment and development of science and technology involve the reconstrual of experience by means of grammatical metaphor.Closely related with human cognition,grammatical metaphor realizes its ideational function in scientific discourse of representing the world of reality.
