Abstract
Objective To explore the diagnostic work-up value of ultrasonography in patients with acute appendicitis. Methods One hundred and two suspected acute appendicitis were examined and diagnosed with adjuvant low and high frequency ultrasonography. Results All these cases were verified by surgery and pathology. The diagnostic accurate rate of high frequency ultrasonography was 84.3% and 55.0% by low frequency ultrasonography. Conclusions Ultrasonogrphy intuitively displays acute appendicitis and high frequency ultrasonography has higher detection rate, which provides an objective diagnostic basis for the surgeon.
