Abstract

Objective To explore the curative effect and adverse reactions of combination chemotherapy of all-trans retinoic acid and arsenic trioxide in treatment of patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia. Methods Forty five patients with promyelocytic leukemia were randomly allocated into ATRA combined with ATO group,ATRA group and routine chemotherapy group. The duration of remission, ratio of progranulocytes, total amount of leukocytes and drug adverse reactions of patients in each group were observed. Results The ratio of progranulocytes, total amount of leukocytes and complete response(CR) in ATRA combined with ATO group compared with other groups, and their difference was significant(P0.05).Conclusion The short-term effect of combination chemotherapy with all-trans retinoic acid and arsenic trioxide in treatment of patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia is significant, and its rate of complete remission is high.
