Simvastatin vs Duoxikang in treating hypercholesteromia

Abstract
AIM: To compare the curative effect of simvastatin contrast with Duoxikang. METHODS: There were 60 patients whose plasma cholesterol was =5. 85 mmol. L- 1. Patients were divided into 2 groups by random. Thirty patients (M 14, F 16, age 63 a +-s 12 a) in treatment group of were treated 5 mg, to, qd by simvastatin. Thirty patients (M 14, F 16, age 63 a+- 11 a) in control group were treated # 3 po tid by Duoxikang. Both with a course of treatment for 1 mo. RESULTS: The level of plasma TC and LDL-C was decreased obviousely and the level Of HDL-C was elevated after treatment by simvastatin (P 0. 01 ). But the lowering of TG after treatment was not obvious (P 0. 05). The level of TC was decreased only after treatment by Duoxikang (P 0. 01 ). CONCLUSION: The curative effect Of simvastatin is superior to that of Duoxikang.
