The Difference of Language Environment in the Nativization of the Feminist Literary Criticism

When introduced into China, feminist literary criticism of West was greeted with a reception environment diametrically different from its theoretical source. The differences include: 1.The difference in historical background, mainly manifested in fact that construction came after destruction in case of feminist literary criticism of West, whereas it was other way round in case of China. 2. The difference in ideology, mainly manifested in contrast between democratic tradition in Western culture and concept of centralization in traditional Chinese culture. 3. The difference in academic background, mainly manifested in fact that feminist literary criticism of West began with academic revolution of refuting the new while feminist literary criticism of China drew its nourishment from Marxist socio-historical criticism. These differences not only predetermined unique feature of China's feminist literary criticism, but they also called for a new line of thought in nativized research of Western theory.
