Kuomintang Government's Policies towards Soviet during the Late Period of Anti-Japanese War

Abstract

After 1941,as soviet's postition decreased in the Chinese war against Japan,Kuomintang Government's policies towards Soviet changed from uniting Soviet at the beginning of the war against Japan to oppositing to the communist party.Taking advantage of Soviet disaster,Kuomintang Government pushed out Soviet power in Xinjiang,partitioned the contact channel between Soviet and the Communist Party of China,regardless of worsening the relation between China and Soviet.After 1943,with the turn in the course of the world war against fascists,Kuomintang Government tried to improve the relation between China and Soviet to pave the way for signing an allied treaty in which it was stated that Soviet would support Kuomintang rather than the Communist Party of China unifying China.Kuomintang Government obviously showed its opposition to the Communist Party during the late time of the war aqainst Japan through its change of attitude towards the YaTaEr Agreement and the change of its stand in the course of the negotiation between China and Soviet with in the frame of YaTaEr.
