Complications of varicose veins of lower limbs after endovenous laser treatment

Objective To investigate varicose veins surgery complications and prevention after treatment of endovenous laser surgery(endovenous laser treatment EVLT).Methods 265 cases(327 limbs)underwent EVLT combined with a variety of other surgical modality individualized treatment.The patients were observed and complications were analyzed.Results There were 180 cases of subcutaneous ecchymosis(55%),58 cases subcutaneous availability of cord-like induration(17.7%),31 cases of skin burns(9.5%),23 cases of varicose vein residues(7.0%),19 cases of ankle and foot pain(5.8%),16 cases of saphenous nerve injury(4.9%),1 case of groin incision lymphatic leakage(0.3%).After appropriate treatment all cases had been alleviated.Conclusion EVLT is a safe,effective,minimally invasive surgical procedures with fewer complications.Standardization of operation can effectively reduce the incidence of complications.
