Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinical application of flow-through hybridization and gene chip on human papillomavirus(HPV) genotypes detection in cervical cancer.METHODS:The flow-through hybridization and gene chip was used to detect HPV genotypes in specimens of exfoliated cells from 1 169 cervical cancer patients.RESULTS: In 1 169 cases, the total infection rate of HPV was 91.70%(1 072/1 169),the rate of single genotype of HPV was 77.16%(902/1 169),and the rate of multiple genotypes of HPV was 14.54%(170/1 169),The most common genotypes were HPV16(62.10%),HPV18(10.95%),HPV58(10.52%),HPV52(7.96%),and HPV33(3.93%).CONCLUSIONS:The flow-through hybridization and gene chip is able to detect the multiple HPV genotype. The distinction among HPV genotypes is seemed useful in prevention and management of cervical cancer.
