Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of nursing interventions on the therapeutic effect in lumbar disc herniation patients. Methods Eighty cases of lumbar disc herniation treated by discectomy were randomly divided into intervention group(conventional care+ mental nursing) and control group (conventional care,40 cases)and the nursing and surgical results and complications of the two groups were observed and compared. Results The total effective rate of the intervention group was 95.0 (38/40),higher than that of the control group [77.5%(31/40)],with a significant difference(P0.05). The incidence rates of nerve root edema, nerve root adhesion and intervertebral infection in the intervention group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P0.05). Operation time, blood loss and hospital stay were significantly shorter in the intervention group than those of the control group (P0.05). Conclusion Careful nursing interventions,in particular psychological intervention can significantly improve the therapy effect of lumbar disc herniation by discectomy, reduce the incidence of complications and improve the patient quality of life.
