Abstract
The popular thinking was one of the most important thoughts in Chinese fine arts in the 20th century. It had great effects upon the traditional Chinese painting in the reformations of its functions and arts style. Although the connotation and axiology of the popular traditional Chinese painting are different in various times, the progression of the popularization of the traditional Chinese painting has never stopped. And absolutely different arts style of the genre painting in Chinese feudal society and the West contemporary popular arts came into being. To build up a new style of traditional Chinese painting which is satisfactory to the mass' aesthetic desire is still a task of the responsible Chinese painters.
