Study of the Opening Process of Public Gardens in Beijing in the Early Republic of China(1914-1929)

This paper describes the development of public gardens and their touring programs in Beijing and analyzes the opening process of imperial gardens, private gardens and temples in Beijing in the early Republic of China. It figures out that public gardens with beautiful scenery and profound history is an important part of the historical culture heritage. These gardens not only expand the urban open space, but also have inestimable value in the construction of urban parks, the inheritance of Beijing culture and spirits, as well as enriching the life of citizens.
