Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of CT guided percutaneous fine-needle aspiration biopsy of the lung. Methods We retrospectively analysed a series of 26 cases who underwent CT-guided percutaneous needle aspirational biopsy of the lung. The key points of aspiration biopsy included selection of the appropriate cross-section.Results 19 of 26 patients were proved malignant lesions and 4 of 26 were proved benign lesions,3 cases can not be confirmed. Complications were 1 case pneumothorax and 2 cases minor hemoptysis. Conclusions CT guided percutaneous needle biopsy is an effective and relatively safe method for obtaining diagnostic material form a intrathorcic lesions because of the low complication and high accuracy rate.
