Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of insulin-like growth factor binding protein-7 (IGFBP-7) in serum and tumor tissue from patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods IGFBP-7 expression of serum and tumor tissue in 57 patients with NSCLC and 17 cases of benign pulmonary lesions was detected by ELISA and immunohistochemistry, respectively. The relationship between IGFBP-7 expression and pathological parameters was then analyzed. Results IGFBP-7 expression of serum and tumor tissue was significantly lower in NSCLC than that in control group (P0.01), and its expression was correlated with node metastasis, local invasion, distant metastasis and TNM stage (P0.01 or 0.05). Conclusion IGFBP-7 downexpression of serum and tumor tissue may play an important role in the occurrence, development and metastasis of NSCLC, and may be helpful in the diagnosis and prognostic evaluation of patients with NSCLC
