Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression and clinical significance of S100A4 protein in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:Immunohistochemical staining(SP method)for detection of the expression of S100A4 protein was performed in 90 cases of NSCLC to analyze association of S100A4 protein with clincopathological characteristics. Results:The positive expression rate of S100A4 protein was 64.4% in NSCLC.There was a significant difference of the expression rate of S100A4 protein among adenocarcinoma, adenosquamous carcinoma, large cell lung cancer and squamous cell carcinoma(P0.05).The positive expression rate of S100A4 protein was significantly related with lymph node metastasis, degree of differentiation and age(all P0.05).Conclusion:Expression of S100A4 protein is significantly associated with tumor progression in NSCLC,and it could be used a valuable marker in predicting biological behavior and metastasis, and directing clinical therapy of NSCLC.
