Abstract

Objective:To explore the curative effect and safety of Paroxetine in the treatment of post-stroke depression.Methods:90 patients were randomly divided into research group(n=46) taking routine treatment and psychotherapy combining Paroxetine and control group(n=44) combining amitriptyline for 8 weeks.Curative effects were assessed with the HAMD and the MESSS before treatment and at the ends of 2nd,4th and 8th week treatment. Results:Compared with pretreatment, scores of both the HAMD and the MESSS significantly decreased at the end of the 2nd week in the research group(P0.05) and at the end of 4th week in the control group(P0.05),comparisons of the 2 groups in the corresponding period showed significant difference(P0.05).The research group had less and slight side effects than the control group. Conclusion:Paroxetine is an ideal medicine takeing effect faster and has notable curative effect, higher safety in the treatment of post-stroke depression.
