Abstract

Vocabulary teaching is a very important part of English teaching.Metaphor,as a way of cognition,permeates in thinking and language,and it plays an important role in vocabulary learning.In the article,the relationship between vocabulary and metaphor and the functions of metaphor in vocabulary teaching and learning is explored.
