Investigation on Relationship Between Mental Health and Personality of Freshmen at Higher Vocational Colleges

Abstract

SCL-90 and EPQ questionnaires are used to evaluate the mental health conditions of 239 freshmen. The results show that except the terror symptom, other symptoms of the freshmen at Shunde Polytechnic are lower than that of national college norm, and the difference has statistic significance. The force symptom of the male freshmen is significantly higher than that of the female freshmen. The personality of freshmen at college is in positive condition. Analyzing personality and mental health situation, psychological education strategy is put forward as a reference for vocational colleges to carry out psychological education and foster healthy personality of students.
