A study of the relationship between mental health and personality characteristics of freshmen

Abstract

Objective:To examine the relationship between mental health and personality characteristics of freshmen. Methods: Using Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL- 90) and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) assessed mental health and personality characteristics of freshmen. Results : There were significant differences between mental health of freshmen and nation norm( P 0.01 ), and mental health associated significantly with personality characteristics of freshmen. Conclusions: We should carry out mental health education and perfect personality education promptly in freshmen.
