Abstract

Objective To observe the curative effect of montelukast combined with budesonide inhalation in treatment of elderly patients with cough variant asthma. Methods 76 cases of cough variant asthma in our hospital from June 2013 to February 2014 were selected and randomly divided into two groups. The 43 cases in control group received budesonide; the 33 cases in experimental group received montelukast combined with budesonide inhalation. The curative effect of two groups and the lung function were compared. Result Asthma symptoms of patients in two groups improved significantly, and the total effective rate of the experimental group was93. 94%,which was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the recovery of pulmonary function was better than that of the control group. Conclusion The clinical application of montelukast combined with budesonide inhalation in treatment of elderly patients with cough variant asthma has significant curative effect.
