Abstract
The Shengmi Bridge is an important city bridge over Ganjiang River, on the Rapid Outer Ring Road of Nanchang. The main bridge of the Bridge is designed as a half-through tied arch bridge of concrete-filled steel tubes with span arrangement (75+2×228+75) m. In this paper, the bridge type design considerations, bridge type alternative comparison and selection, and overall design of the main bridge are dealt with.
