A STUDY ON THE HISTORY OF TIANJIN EARLY -MODERN CITY PLANNING (1860-1949)

Similar to Shanghai and Wuhan, Tianjin has nine concessions. The development of concessions deeply affected the evolution and development of Tianjin city. According to Tianjin early-modern city planning during the 89 years from 1860 to 1949, the paper puts forward the phases and process of concession expansion and street network construction → city planning and construction of partial region → master plan, analyses the main content of city planning including the planning and development of concession, city planning and construction by Chinese, city planning by Japanese during the war, the resuming and development of city planning after the war, and expatiates the characters of Tianjin early-modern city planning.
