Abstract

[Objective]To explore the effect of short-term insulin pump intensive therapy in patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus insulin resistance. [Methods]From 2007 to 2008 in our hospital, 46 cases of newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes treated with short-term insulin pump intensive therapy were selected, treated by continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSⅡ) treatment for two weeks. The fasting plasma glucose (FPG) , fasting insulin (FINS), insulin secretion index (Homa-β) and insulin resistance index (Homa-IR) were observed and recorded before and after treatment in patients.[Results]After treatment in patients with FINS, Homa-β were significantly higher, FPG, Homa-IR were significantly lower, the differences were statistically significant (P 0.05 or P 0.01). [Conclusion]Short-term insulin pump intensive therapy in patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus can significantly improve the islet β cells and reduce insulin resistance.
