Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical value of transvaginal ultrasound(TVS) in diagnosis for septate uterus with early pregnancy. Methods 76 patients suspected of having the septate uterus with early pregnancy were enrolled in this study.Surgical-pathologic examination were performed after 2D-TAS and 2D-TVS examination in all patients.Surgical-pathologic results as a diagnostic gold standard, the inspection results were analyzed. Results There were 48 cases of septate uterus with early pregnancy,13 cases of corneal pregnancy,15 cases of eccentric intrauterine pregnancy. The sensitivity of 2D-TAS was 81.6%,the specificity was 69.2%,the accuracy was 88.3%.The sensitivity of 2D-TVS was 93.7%,the specificity was 88.6%,the accuracy was 93.4%.Analysis of those findings indicated that there was significant difference(P0.05) between the two methods. Conclusions 2D-TVS is a feasible way for diagnosis of septate uterus with early pregnancy,is superior to abdominal ultrasound, with important clinical value, worthy of promotion.
