Abstract
Objective To compare the clinical effect of quartz fiber post and metal casting post in the residual crown and root. Methods Totally 145 patients with 181 residual crown and root were included in the study. According to the principle of voluntary,They were divided into group A( fiber post),group B( metal casting post),after perfect root canal therapy. then compare the clinical effect and the referral situation after 0. 5 ~ 2 years. Results There was 1 case of post and core fracture,1 case of post and core loss,1 case of periapical inflammation in the group A,the success rate was96. 94%; There was 5 case of root fracture,1 case of post and core fracture,2 case of post and core loss,1 case of periapical inflammation,2 case of gingival color change in the group B,the success rate was 86. 75%; There was statistical significance between the two groups( P 0. 05) Conclusion Quartz fiber post shows better clinical results in the repair of residual crown and root than cast metal post.
