Study of Regional Independent Innovation Characteristics:Evidence from Regions with Advantage in Independent Innovation in China

It is crucial to enhance independent innovation ability in building innovative nation, so it is helpful to establish proper strategy for innovation by analyzing characteristics of independent innovation. This paper discusses China's regional independent characteristics including its advantage and disadvantage from three aspects: independent innovation, regional innovation network and regional innovation environment. As a result, we give a series of advice as the following: it is necessary for financial departments in all mentioned regions to reinforce finance support for innovation,and it is also important for these regions to intensify the bi-directional influence between economy and innovation.To Hubei, Shanxi and Sichuan, it is essential to attach great importance to boost the large and medium enterprises' influence in innovation performance.To Tanjin, Zhejiang, Shandong and Fujian, it is significant to strive for innovation resources from the central government.To Liaoning, it is vital to create a better regional innovation environment and keep innovation performance sustaining by initiating the concept of energy protection and strengthening energy economization and city environment protection.
