Comparison of fixing effect of using two kinds of splint on anterior loosened teeth with severe periodontitis

AIM: To evaluate the clinical effect of the porcelain-fused-to-metal bridge and resinic splint,which were used to fix the loosened teeth of severe periodontitis,so as to provide important reference to doctors in selecting proper splints.METHODS: After basic periodontal treatment,ten cases of loosened anterior teeth were cured by using porcelain-fused-to-metal bridge and resinic splint separately.Then the clinic improvement of periodontal index,occlusal force,radiograph and the objective satisfaction were assessed and evaluated in the third and sixth month.RESULTS : The probing depth(PD) and the occlusal force were sharply ameliorated.All patients were satisfied with the splints,and partial bone repair was found.CONCLUSION: Both splints are effective method to fix the loosened teeth,and the periodontal maintenance is strongly recommended.
