Abstract
Objective To study the effects of Huoxuetongmailing on superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity and malondiadehyde (MDA) content in myocardial ischemic rats induced by isoproterenol(ISO).Methods Fifty healthy male Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups,namely with control group,model group,aspirin treatment group,max dose of Huoxuetongmailing(HXTMLmax) treatment group and min dose of Huoxuetongmailing(HXTMLmin) treatment group.The activity of SOD and the content of MDA in myocardial tissue were measured.Results Compared with the control group,the activity of SOD was lower and the content of MDA was higher in model group(P 0.01).The activity of SOD in aspirin,HXTMLmax and HXTMLmin treatment group were higher than those in model group,and the content of MDA were lower(P 0.05 or P 0.01).There was no statistical difference between HXTMLmax and HXTMLmin treatment group (P 0.05).Conclusion The Huoxuetongmailing could increase the SOD activity and decrease the MDA content in myocardial ischemic rats,which is indicated that it could resist oxidative damage of myocardial ischemia and protect heart tissue.
