Abstract

Objective To discuss the diagnostic value of conventional CT in hyperacute cerebral infarction. Methods Three hundred cases of hyperacute cerebral infarction which accepted for examination by the conventional CT within 1-6 hours and proved by spiral CT or MR reexamination after 24 hours were retrospectively analyzed, including clinical manifestations and CT symptoms. Results The CT symptoms of hyperacute cerebral infarction were found in 202 cases including the density of cerebral parenchyma being lower in 126 cases, local brain swelling or cerebral sulci being shallow or ventricles being narrow by the pressure in 52 cases, hyperdense middle cerebral artery sign (HMCAS) in 94 cases, lentiform nucleus being lower 108 cases, lobus insulars, capsule extrema and claustra being lower and their interface of white and gray matters being vague in 87 cases. Conclusion Although the conventional CT symptoms of hyperacute cerebral infarction are light, but they have definitive value combining clinical manifestations.
