Abstract
[Objective] To observe the therapeutic effects of rhubarb in the treatment of abnormal hemorheology of the acute and critical patients. [Methods]Forty-two patients with acute critical diseases were stochastically divided into two groups, namely, the treatment group and the control; both groups were treated with routine integrated method, while the treatment group was treated additionally with rhubarb powder nasally or orally; detection was made on the hemorheological indexes of the two groups before and after the 7 days' treatment. [Results]The blood high-shear viscosity (200s-1), low-shear (1s-1), plasma viscosity (100s-1), hematocrit (HCT), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and von Willebrand factor antigen (VWF) of the two groups increased, while platelet counting (PLT) and fibrinogen (FBG) decreased; all the hemorheological indexes of the treatment group were significantly better than that of the control, the difference was significant (P0.05; P0.01). [Conclusion]Rhubarb has a protection effect on the blood coagulation and hemorheology of the patients with acute critical diseases.
