Abstract
Objective To prepare curcumin solid dispersion and improve its dissolution rate in vitro. Methods Solid dispersion was prepared by the melting method and the solvent method.Screen of the optimal formulation of solid dispersion was carried out through comparing appearance and measuring dissolution test in vitro of solid dispersion with diffierent base. The formation of solid dispersion was evaluated by X-ray and DSC test. Results Curcumin solid dispersion was prepared by solvent method using PVP-K29/32 in the ratio of 1∶6.Curcumin dissolution percentage from the solid dispersion was about 98% in HCl solution with pH of 1.2 in 30 minutes. Conclusions The dissolution rate of curcumin from the solid dispersion is obviously enhanced.
