Research on the Integration of Formative Assessment and Summative Assessment in College English

The introduction of Formative Assessment is an effective compensation to traditional Summative Assessment in College English evaluation system.The combination of the two systems has played an important role in improving college English teaching and learning.On the one hand,it has updated teachers'concept of education and of evaluation on students' performance and has prioritized teaching process;on the other hand,it has helped to motivate and interest students to learn,to cultivate their learning strategies,to improve their autonomous learning ability and their comprehensive language competence.
