Abstract

Objective To detect antibody response and its protective immunity against Schistosoma japonicum(Sj) induced by recombinant Sj 32 ×103(rSj 32) antigen. Methods Balb/c mice were immunized subcutaneously three times (0,2,4 weeks) with rSj 32 emulsified with adjuvant. Each mouse was infected with (40±1) curacies of Sj (6 weeks). After 42 days of infection, the mice were killed and the worm number was counted. The specific antibody was tested by ELISA. Results The antibody titer of sera reached 1:12 800 in mice immunized with rSj 32×103. The worn reduction rate in experimental group was 21.9%. Conclusion The specific antibody could be induced by rSj 32×103 antigen which has an effect of protection against Sj infection in mice.
